I Remembered…

It felt as the words were like mountains
Heavy indeed, indeed!
The tongue has no bones
but the words broke me to pieces
Scattered in pain, anger
and confused, I was left
Satan whispered — my greatest enemy
and my Lord’s
To fight back with no sticks and stones
but words that will scar him to life
Then, I remembered You, my Lord!
How shall I fight back?
When You’re bigger than anything?
You are bigger than my anger,
My pain and the heaviness of mountains
that sits right here in my heart
By words of a man
whose gone deeply mad
I remembered that whatever befalls me,
You are the Greatest to please!
Just for Your sake,
I fought my ego to say no harsh
In Honor of Your name my Lord
Truly You reward those who are steadfast
It wasn’t long enough
When a light kindled in me
That made me smile through my tears
and healed every wound
You sent me two angels
Emina Wuhu and Lisa Marie king
Who made my pain a long lost memory
In gratitude, I bow
In front of You, My Lord
This rainy night,
I’ll let every raindrop be a witness
That forever, my heart
I will remember Allah!
In struggle and prosperity!
Truly, In the remembrance of Allah
Is where hearts find rest!
