It can bring you remarkable healing spiritually and physically.
“When you have low blood flow in the brain, especially in the frontal lobes, it reduces your ability to problem-solve, lowers your empathy. Simple ways to increase blood flow to this area of the brain include physical exercise, meditation, and taking fish oil supplements”. — Daniel G. Amen, M.D.
I came across the quote above while I was scrolling through my Instagram feed. Mind-blown by what I just read because, in my faith, my God, Allah, has prescribed for all the believers in the Qur’an to perform the Salah (the five daily prayers of Muslims).
The obligatory prayer we perform has many parts. The Sajdah’s position in which the forehead touches the Earth is said to be the climax of a Muslim’s prayer.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“I have been commanded to prostrate on seven bones: on the forehead,” and he pointed to his nose, “and on the two hands, the two knees and the edges of the two feet (i.e., the toes).” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 812; Muslim, 490.
Ibn Al Uthaymeen, one of the greatest scholar’ of Islam also said:
“If he lifts up one or both of his feet, or one or both of his hands, or his forehead or nose, or both of them, then his prostration is invalid and does not count, and if his prostration is invalid, then his prayer is also invalid”.
What happens When the forehead touches the ground?
The hydrostatic effect takes place. Here’s the definition on dictionary.com:A fluid at equilibrium at a given point within the fluid due to the force of gravity. Hydrostatic pressure increases in proportion to depth measured from the surface because of the increasing weight of a fluid exerting downward force from above.
When lowering one’s head and putting the forehead on the ground, it elevates the blood flow to the frontal brain areas.
The neurological outcomes of hydrostatic blood pressures form new neural networks faster under higher blood flows and pressure to a local brain area.
Our beloved Prophet may the peace and blessings of God be upon him said, “The nearest a slave can be to his Lord (Allāh) is while they are prostrating, so increase in supplication” (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Musnad Aḥmad)
So when you are reading your supplication or prayer affirmations while in that position, and the magic is happening by the new neural networks forming much FASTER from the hydrostatic effect, isn’t that just the best time to pray for CHANGE spiritually and physically?
“Frontal lobe is the CEO of the brain. The rest of the brain is just past programming.” — Dr. Joe Dispenza.
By putting your forehead on the ground, you are messaging the CEO to start wiring new connections and commanding to bring forth the best version of you ( by all those prayers of affirmations you communicated).
Medical benefits
When we come in direct contact with our body part to the ground, it is referred to as “earthing” or “grounding.”
The Earth’s surface contains free electrons that can be transferred to human bodies via direct contact. These electrons then act as antioxidants that help neutralize free radicals in our bodies to reduce inflammation prevent disease.
Grounding helps thin dangerously-thick blood and fights inflammation and disease.
We are also in the constant assault of electromagnetic fields and other types of radiation from cell phones, our house electricity, computers, and Wi-Fi; by touching the earth and allowing the excess charge in your body to discharge into the ground, you can alleviate some of the stress put on your body.
The Best Way To Reap The Benefits
There’s supplementing. After hearing horror stories of how people used supplements to make a difference in how they feel, I would never take that route.
There’s being barefooted and getting the benefits of grounding that way. Still, the magic happens when you bring the frontal lobe to the ground in prostration because now it’s not about just letting go of radiation and acquiring electrons — you are doing deeper level transformation by engaging the CEO of the brain.
